The week opened with a 11.95% drop in turnover to 219.29Mn from Friday’s close of 249Mn. Market Volume shrank to close the day with 7Mn shares exchanging hands against Friday’s 9Mn. Equity Bank, Safaricom Plc and Carbacid were the most actively traded counters, with 2.4Mn, 1.3Mn and 762,300 shares exchanging hands respectively.

The NSE All share index and the NSE20 share index dropped by 0.58 and 15.38 points to close the day at 157.33 and 2899.41 points respectively.

The Shilling remained relatively stable, showing slow strengths to close at 100.99 against the dollar.
